세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL, WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS, 이하 세계총연맹)은 지난 2007년 1월11일 설립된 '국제청소년연구원 (구. 국제청소년연구소, 초대 대표 이산하<李山河>)'을 모태로 한 비영리 정치적 중립기구로, 세계총연맹 부설 언론기관인 세계언론협회(WPA, WORLD PRESS ASSOCIATION)와 전국 17개 광역시•도 지부연맹 및 세계 각 국가의 지부연맹을 통해서 열정을 가진 청년인재들과 함께 사회의 구조적 모순에서 일어나는 위기상황을 해결해 나가는데 기여하고 있다. 또한 세계 각국 간의 교류와 협력을 통해 사회적 약자가 소외 받지 않고 참여와 소통의 문화가 확산돼 ’더불어 함께하는 세상'을 열어 가는데 가치를 두고 있다. |

An International Public-Interest Project for Advancing Global Public Value and the Common Development of Humanity
WIC AWARDS(World Innovative Contribution Awards)는 세계 각국에서 인류사회 발전과 공공가치 실현에 기여한 우수한 인물과 기관을 발굴하여 국제사회에 소개하고, 국가와 기관, 기업 및 시민사회가 서로의 우수사례를 공유함으로써 국제협력과 지속가능한 발전에 기여하기 위하여 제정되었다. The WIC Awards (World Innovative Contribution Awards) were established to identify and introduce outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions have advanced humanity and promoted public value, while encouraging governments, institutions, corporations, and civil society to share exemplary practices that strengthen international cooperation and sustainable development.
WIC AWARDS는 특정 국가나 조직의 이해관계를 대변하지 않고 정치적 중립성과 공익성을 바탕으로 세계평화, 인권, 환경, 경제, 과학, 교육, 보건, 사회공헌 및 문화 등 다양한 분야에서 국제사회에 귀감이 되는 우수사례를 발굴하여 국제사회와 공유하는 것을 기본 목적으로 하였다. The WIC Awards were founded upon the principles of political neutrality and public interest rather than the interests of any particular nation or organization. Their primary objective was to identify and introduce exemplary achievements in world peace, human rights, the environment, the economy, science, education, healthcare, social contribution, and culture, and to share those achievements with the international community.
또한 세계 각국의 우수한 정책과 제도, 사회혁신 및 공익적 성과를 널리 알림으로써 국가와 기관이 서로 배우고 협력할 수 있는 국제적 기반을 조성하고, 인류 공동의 발전과 공공가치 확산에 기여하는 것을 중요한 목표로 하였다. The WIC Awards also sought to promote outstanding public policies, institutional innovations, and public-interest achievements around the world, thereby creating opportunities for governments and institutions to learn from one another while contributing to the common development of humanity and the expansion of public value.
WIC AWARDS는 단순한 시상행사가 아니라 국제사회가 함께 참고할 수 있는 우수사례를 발굴하고 공유하는 국제 공익 프로젝트로 기획되었으며, 이러한 운영철학과 경험은 이후 WIC의 '세계 우수사례 선정(Global Selection)' 운영체계가 마련되는 중요한 기반이 되었다. The WIC Awards were conceived not merely as an awards program, but as an international public-interest project dedicated to identifying and sharing exemplary global practices. The philosophy and experience accumulated through the WIC Awards later became an important foundation for WIC's Global Selection framework.

The WIC Awards served as WIC's flagship international public-interest project beginning in 2017, introducing outstanding individuals and organizations from around the world while promoting public value and international cooperation.
이 과정에서 축적된 조사 경험과 운영철학은 오늘날 WIC의 '세계 우수사례 선정(Global Selection)' 운영체계로 이어지는 중요한 역사적 기반이 되었다. 따라서 본 메뉴의 내용은 WIC AWARDS 운영 당시의 공식 자료와 운영원칙을 보존하는 동시에, 현재 WIC가 추진하는 Global Selection 운영체계의 역사적 배경과 발전 과정을 함께 이해할 수 있도록 구성하였다. The research experience and operational philosophy accumulated through the WIC Awards became the historical foundation for WIC's current Global Selection framework.
